"Arizona's Best B&B's: 16 great places to get away from it all"

Phoenix magazine '03
"This secluded B&B has been a favorite romantic getaway for years. Partners, Aurelia and Jerry, purchased the place and knowing a good thing when they saw it, they left every detail just as it was.
Perched high above the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon, the property is located on a steep, private road that's nearly impossible to find without good directions. From that vantage point, it's possible to see only the surrounding red-rock formations and the tops of the sycamores and cottonwoods that line the creek below. The B&B feels as though it's miles from civilization, but in reality, it's minutes from uptown Sedona and all it has to offer.
The common area is formal and impeccably kept, with white walls, dark wood trim and furnishings, and oriental rugs. A large, shared patio surrounded by pines and junipers, features red-rock views and a cascading waterfall. It's a great place to soak up some vortexes.
But you won't want to spend your time in either place, when the guest rooms offer French doors that lead out onto private patios with hot tubs and panoramic views. Sedona has a strict light ordinance, so counting the stars is easy, and much more titillating from a swirling, effervescent bath. Afterward, crisp, white linens and fluffy down comforters enfold your body as gently as a cloud.
But the best and most unique thing about this B&B is the breakfast service. Each room has its own set of china, and every morning it's attractively arranged on a cart that's wheeled to your room. Let's be honest. If a romantic retreat is your goal, which would you rather do: Get up early to shower and present yourself to a group of strangers at a breakfast table? Or roll out of bed at a civilized hour, curl yourself inside a soft robe on a sun-dappled patio and wait for a breakfast of fresh fruit, stuffed crepes and flaky croissants to materialize at your feet? It's almost more than a person could wish for."

"Secluded private entrances, hot tubs on private patios, breakfast delivered to the door -- this is the place to come when you don't want to see or be seen. Surrounded by pines and junipers high above Highway 89A at the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon, the B&B itself is nearly impossible to find without good directions. But once you have found it, you may never want to leave.

[Former] Innkeepers Valda and Esper Esau spent two years remodeling the B&B in a style I call "bright Victorian" -- white walls, dark wood trim, French doors draped with white tulle or damask, oriental rugs. All of the beds are made up with crisp, white linens and fluffy down comforters, and each room has its own set of china and crystal."

"With a view that overlooks Oak Creek Canyon, this romantic getaway offers five luxurious rooms with private baths and entrances surrounded by Sedona's lush greenery. The grounds feature cascading ponds and secluded forest trails. The large main room offers a cozy fireplace, books and sitting areas. Each room comes with a fireplace and has a distinct classic decor such as the lace-adorned Memories and Moonbeams room with Jacuzzi tub and deck, and the Sedona Serenade room featuring rich wood tones, ceiling beams, and a private outdoor spa. A gourmet breakfast is delivered to the room for private dining. For added romance, the hosts are happy to include subtle touches such as chilled champagne and fresh flowers."

"You'll forget you're less than a mile from Uptown Sedona, due to the cascading waterfall, old Indian trail, and breathtaking views of Cathedral Rock.  The rooms here are spacious, private, and ideal for a romantic getaway...."

Arizona Republic, May 1998 by Judy Walker
"Private, romantic, luxurious. Watch the shadows change on Cathedral Rock from the spas on the decks or large whirlpool tub in the room. Honeymooners must adore it here. (Anybody would unless they have a remote control welded to their arm.)"

Arizona Association of Bed and Breakfast Inns, August 1998

by Edie Jarolim
"Only minutes from the heart of Sedona and all its lures, the Wishing Well Bed and Breakfast seems to occupy a separate world. That's partly because of its location; the ultra romantic Inn sits on a knoll at the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon and affords spectacular vistas of the red rock formations from its five guest rooms."
